Are you interested in learning the application of Machine Learning (ML) in Cybersecurity? Do you want to enhance your skills in innovative ML techniques used in the industry?
Join the WSU Cyber Security and Behaviour team for an immersive workshop and a mini research project in February 2024. This workshop is supported by a Google Explore CSR grant.
An intensive workshop followed by a mini research project led by WSU faculty, researchers and invited guests from academia and industry.
An intensive three-day workshop covering machine learning and AI uses in cyber security. You’ll also get to meet cyber security researchers and get an insider’s view of life as a PhD student. Industry experts will introduce you to ML and AI use in the field.
After the workshop, you will team up with a small group for a mini research project using or developing ML/AI for cyber security. Your team will be assigned a mentor and you should meet weekly for 1 month.
The intensive workshop will be held all day on February 13, 14 & 15th 2024.
Projects will continue to March 31st 2024. A day to present your project outcomes will be scheduled for the last week of March.
At Western Sydney University Parramatta City Campus, home of our Western Cyber Aid and community engagement centre. You must be available to attend in-person for the duration of the workshop and the project meetings.
This workshop is open to all undergraduate students studying cyber security, computer science, data science or a similar discipline at Western Sydney University in 2023.

This workshop is free but you must be registered to attend. Places are limited so you must complete the application form before the deadline to be accepted. Depending on the number of applications we reserve the right to make a selection based on your responses to the questions below. We will prioritise student diversity in our selection process, followed by your reason for applying for this opportunity (we are not selecting based on grades or prior experience)
